History of Phat Track Records
Founded by Passion, Driven by Innovation
Phat Track Records was established in 2018 by Dizz-E and Base-P, two visionary artists, producers, and scholars with a shared passion for hip-hop and rap. Born out of a desire to create a platform that nurtures raw talent and champions independent music, Phat Track Records quickly became a hub for innovative sounds and groundbreaking collaborations.
Our Founders
Dizz-E, a hip-hop artist originally from Manchester, England, and now based in Olomouc, Czech Republic, brings a unique blend of British and American influences to the label. His music journey, inspired by legends like Nas, Dr. Dre, and Snoop Dogg, has shaped the label’s distinctive sound—melding old-school vibes with modern rhythms.
Base-P, born in Nigeria and raised in Florida and Louisiana, adds a rich cultural and musical diversity to the label. His upbringing in the Southern U.S. deeply influenced his musical style, infusing his work with elements of Southern hip-hop and soul. After moving to the Czech Republic, Base-P and Dizz-E became close friends, united by their love for music and their academic pursuits—both holding PhD degrees. Their intellectual curiosity and creative synergy led to the formation of Phat Track Records, a label that combines academic rigor with artistic freedom.
